Anxiety disorders can present in a number of different anxiety states from:
Anxiety is the body's standard way of responding to threats or danger but can be crippling for those with anxiety disorders. The common theme in anxiety disorders is the persistent feeling of fear or worry. In anxiety, whether a perceived danger is real or not, adrenaline is rushed into our bloodstream triggering the primitive ‘fight or flight’ response.
Anxiety becomes a problem when individuals remain in a constant state of ‘fight or flight,’ which is a result of the brain engaging in irrational thoughts and triggering physiological changes in breathing, muscle tension, bladder relaxation, increased heart rate, and more.
Because of these constant physical attributes of anxiety response, avoiding potential threat-based triggers becomes the individual’s primary focus and therefore negatively shapes one’s lifestyle and actions.
